You’ve got the experience.

Getting clients to see it is another problem entirely.

You’re building a business based on real expertise. The hard part is getting the right clients to understand that.

The market has gotten harder. Budgets are tighter, there are more people calling themselves fractionals and consultants than ever before, and LinkedIn is noisy. If it feels harder to stand out than you expected, you're not imagining it.

The instinct is usually to do more — post more, reach out more, show up in more places. But if the message isn't right, more volume just means more of the same.

At a certain point, it starts to feel like: this should be working by now. You're experienced. You're showing up. So what are you missing?

Your problem might not be your pipeline — it's your positioning.

Most fractionals and consultants describe their work the way they think about it: their title, their background, their area of expertise. But their ideal clients aren't searching for a fractional CMO or a consultant with 15 years of experience. They're searching for a way out of a specific problem that's making their business harder to run. When your positioning doesn't speak to that problem — from their perspective, not yours — even the right people scroll past.

I've been a marketer for over 20 years and do this kind of work for clients every day. It took me an embarrassingly long time to figure it out for my own business— which is part of why I know how hard it is, and exactly why I built this.

The Fractional Fridays Positioning Workshop is a live WORKshop where you’ll map your ideal client's journey, identify the symptoms they're actually hiring to fix, and build positioning that makes the right clients recognize themselves — and makes hiring you feel like the obvious next step.

You know that feeling when you see an Instagram ad and think “how did they get inside my head”? That's what good positioning does. When it's working, the right clients don't just notice you — they feel like you're speaking directly to them.

If your work is solid but your message isn't landing, this is the piece that fixes it.

The Workshop Breakdown

The Fractional Fridays Positioning Workshop is a live, strategy-first series — meaning we actually build yours, not just talk about how to do it. It’s designed to get sh*t done, not get hung up on theory — you’ll leave each session with something concrete, not just a notebook full of frameworks to implement…someday.

What’s included:

Two 75-minute live workshops

One 60-minute office hours session

A companion workbook for each session

Access to all session recordings so you can revisit the material anytime

  • Before you can build positioning that works, you need to understand what your ideal client is actually experiencing — from their perspective, not yours.

Most fractionals and consultants describe their work the way they think about it — their title, their background, what they're good at. That's not how their ideal clients think about it.

They're not searching for a fractional CMO or a consultant with 15 years of experience. They're searching for a way out of a specific problem that's making their business harder to run.

In this session, we'll get inside your ideal client's head, and you'll leave with a clear picture of the problems they'll actually pay money (now) to solve, and a framework for validating your thinking before Session 2.

  • With your client journey mapped and validated, you’re ready to build.

We’ll start with your point of view and unique value proposition — not as abstract concepts, but as the specific perspective and track record that makes you the person your ideal client knows they need.

Then we’ll bring that to life, translating it into language that makes your ideal clients feel seen — whether that’s in your LinkedIn profile, your outreach, or at happy hour.

We'll also cover competitive framing: how to stand out against the alternatives your ideal clients are already considering — without being defensive about it or positioning on price.

  • A working session to get feedback on your drafts and work through the edge cases that always come up when you try to apply a framework to a real business.

Bring your positioning statement, your hook, your LinkedIn headline — whatever’s still feeling fuzzy. We’ll work through it live, together.

A live, strategy-first workshop series to help you get clear on the positioning that will help you land the right clients.

  • Two 75-minute live workshops

  • One 60-minute office hours session

  • Session workbooks

Based on 8+ years of doing the work — not just talking about it.

Space is limited. I don’t know if or when I’ll run this again, and I’m not planning on converting it to a self-paced digital course. If this is on your list, now’s the time.

Not a course full of fluff…[it] genuinely inspired me to be more diligent in my work and in how I navigate owning a business.”

Is this right for you?

This is for you if:

✅ You’re a fractional or consultant in your first few years of business — or planning to make the leap soon

✅ You're great at the work, but landing the right clients still feels harder than it should

✅ You've been showing up — whether that’s networking, posting, or reaching out — but the message isn't landing the way you hoped

✅ You’re ready to do the work, and want a structure to follow — not just more ideas

This isn’t for you if:

❌ You’re still unclear on what services you’ll offer or who you want to serve

❌ You’re looking for a cookie-cutter solution or a folder of swipe files

❌ You expect overnight results without putting in strategic work

❌ You’re looking for mindset coaching or accountability, not systems and structure

This is the framework I wish I had

Hi, I’m Meghan.

I’ve been building my fractional and consulting business since 2018 — and for the first few years, I was pretty good at the work and pretty bad at talking about what I did in a way that made the right clients want to hire me.

I’d describe myself as a fractional CMO. A marketing consultant. A growth strategist. I’d talk about the work I did. And it worked for a while. But then the market got crowded. Things started to feel a lot harder. And I needed to figure out how to make it work in this new landscape — because I needed to keep my dog in the style to which she’d become accustomed, and I sure as hell wasn’t going back to high-volume pitch-slapping. (Yep, that was I thing I did in the early days.)

The shift happened when I stopped thinking about positioning as what I call myself, the work I do, or the niche I operate in, and started thinking about it in terms of the urgent problem I solve — the one that keeps my ideal clients awake at night. The difference was immediate.

I've been a marketer for over 20 years and do this work for clients every day — helping brands get clear on who they're talking to, what those people actually need to hear, and how to say it in a way that drives action. I also developed and taught this kind of work as part of a marketing strategy practicum for the University of Washington's digital marketing certificate program.

It took me an embarrassingly long time to apply any of that to my own business. This workshop exists so you don't have to wait as long as I did.

Got questions? I’ve got answers.

  • Build Your Pipeline is a self-paced digital workshop focused on pipeline strategy — how to find and attract clients consistently, what to do during slow seasons, and how to run sales calls and proposals without the cringe.

The Fractional Fridays Positioning Workshop is what makes your pipeline work better.

If you're already showing up — whether that means posting, reaching out, or networking — but the message isn't landing with the right people, positioning is usually what's missing.

The two workshops address different problems and don't overlap in content. Many people will benefit from both.

  • The Predictability Playbook covers pipeline design, offer strategy, pricing, and revenue planning. Positioning was the one piece it didn't cover — and the most-requested topic from the first cohort.

If you've been through the Playbook, you've already done the client journey exercise in Session 1, but through the lens of pipeline design. In this workshop, we go deeper on what you learned there and use it to build your actual positioning language — the thing that shapes how you show up everywhere.

  • Plan on two 75-minute workshops plus the optional office hours session.

There's also a homework assignment between Session 1 and Session 2 — it doesn't have to be elaborate, but carving out an hour or so to do it thoughtfully will make Session 2 significantly more useful.

  • I don’t know if or when I’ll offer this workshop again.

I’m not saying that as a marketing tactic. It’s just me running these behind the scenes (and…in front of the scenes?), and my fractional/consulting work is still my “main” job.

That means I don’t have bandwidth to promote and produce these on an ongoing basis. Doing so would mean hiring someone to help with ads and email funnels (I don’t do either right now), plus admin support — and that would mean raising prices. It’s really important to me to keep this accessible to people in the early stages of building their businesses.

If you’re concerned that you won’t be able to join all of the sessions live, know that you’ll have access to replays and materials via a member hub starting 24 hours after each session.

  • The Fractional Fridays Positioning Workshop is a group program, but it won't be a massive webinar. My live workshops typically run 12–15 attendees, so there's real opportunity for Q&A and feedback throughout.

If a 1:1 format feels like a better fit for where you are, I do have limited availability for Fractional Clarity Sessions and my Fractional Foundations mentoring program.

  • Fair question — I’ve wasted plenty of money on courses and coaching where I wish I’d asked this.

Beyond 8+ years of actively running a fractional and consulting business, I developed and taught a marketing strategy practicum in the University of Washington’s digital marketing certificate program.

Building a curriculum and teaching it to working professionals is something I’ve done before — I’m not a practitioner who just decided to run a workshop on a whim.

Everything I teach is drawn from what I actually do in my own business (including lessons I’ve learned the hard way) and the work I do for my clients — not theories, and not frameworks I read about and thought they sounded good.

  • As a small business, I’m unable to offer refunds. In the event your schedule changes, know that you’ll receive access to recordings and materials within 24 hours of each session via a member site.

If you have questions about whether this workshop is right for you, please don’t hesitate to reach out via the link at the bottom of this page.
